This evening Steven Pienaar will captain South Africa in the absence of Aaron Mokoena when Bafana Bafana run out onto the field to face the team from the United States of America in the Nelson Mandela Challenge at Cape Town Stadium. Kickoff is at 9.30pm.

And it looks like Bafana Bafana has brought in a little strike magic in the form of  25 year old Davide Somma who plays for English second-tier club Leeds United. Somma will start in the absence of the injured Katlego Mphela.

According to the Sowetan, For Davide Somma the high-profile match against the United States will offer a platform for the little-known striker to justify calls for his inclusion in Bafana Bafana.

US Coach Bob Bradley

US coach Bob Bradley will use the game to assess youngsters in his team such as Juan Agudelo and Gale Agbossounde after selecting only five players from the World Cup squad.
