Bafana Bafana defender Bongani Khumalo is excited at the opportunity of joining English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur in January next year.
Khumalo joining Spurs
This means that Khumalo who will be joining Spurs from Supersport United, looks set to miss the League game between Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United on Sunday after picking up an ankle injury at training this week.
According to kickoff.com, a pre-contract agreement has been reached for the 23-year-old to join Spurs when the transfer window re-opens in January, subject to a work permit being granted.
Impressed Harry Redknapp
Khumalo, who impressed manager Harry Redknapp during a trial in September, will boost Tottenham’s defensive options in what has been an injury-hit season for the club to date.
Spurs have taken advantage of the long-term partnership established with SuperSport United three years ago to bring Khumalo to White Hart Lane.
“I’m happy and my move to England is like a dream come true,” Khumalo told the Sowetan.
Wanted to Impress at Tottenham Hotspur
“I have been positive about my chances after attending trials at Tottenham Hotspur. I knew that I did enough to impress.”
